Quick Installation Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-Bit)

Persiapan Mount Source :

buat /source untuk staging area

copy isi cd/iso Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-Bit) ke /source

Cek memory,swap :

# /usr/sbin/prtconf | grep “Memory size”
# /usr/sbin/swap -l
Between 4 GB and 16 GB Equal to the size of RAM
More than 16 GB 16 GB


Disk Space Requirements :
At least 1 GB of space in the /tmp directory
# df -k /tmp

Operating System Requirements :

Solaris 10 U6 (5.10-2008.10)
To determine the distribution and version of Solaris installed, enter the following
command:
# uname -r
5.10
In this example, the version shown is Solaris 10 (5.10). If necessary, refer to your
operating system documentation for information about upgrading the operating
system.
To determine the update level of Solaris installed, enter the following command:
$ cat /etc/release

Patches for Solaris 10:

120753-06: SunOS 5.10: Microtasking
libraries (libmtsk) patch
139574-03: SunOS 5.10
141444-09
141414-02

119963-14: SunOS 5.10: Shared library
patch for C++
124861-15: SunOS 5.10 Compiler
Common patch for Sun C C++

Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-Bit) if you are
using the flash cache feature:

Use JDK 6 (Java SE Development Kit 1.6.0.20) or JDK 5 (1.5.0.24)

To determine whether the required packages are installed, enter commands similar to
the following:

# pkginfo -i SUNWarc SUNWbtool SUNWhea SUNWlibC SUNWlibms SUNWsprot \
SUNWtoo SUNWi1of SUNWi1cs SUNWi15cs SUNWxwfnt

Creating Required Operating System Groups and User (as root) :
# /usr/sbin/groupadd oinstall
# /usr/sbin/groupadd dba
# /usr/sbin/useradd -g oinstall -G dba oracle
# passwd -r files oracle

catatan saat membuat user oracle di SPARC bisa menggunakan :
useradd -g oinstall -G dba -d /export/home/oracle -m -s /bin/ksh -c “oracle” oracle
useradd -g oinstall -G dba -d /home/oracle -m -s /bin/ksh -c “oracle” oracle

pada saat create user oracle, user oracle akan mendapat projid=3(default) itu tidak masalah
$ id -p
uid=100(oracle) gid=100(oinstall) projid=3(default)

Configuring Kernel Parameters on Solaris 10 (as root) :
vi /etc/system
ubah :

noexec_user_stack     NA             1
semsys:seminfo_semmni project.max-sem-ids     100
semsys:seminfo_semmns NA             1024
semsys:seminfo_semmsl process.max-sem-nsems     256
semsys:seminfo_semvmx NA             32767
shmsys:shminfo_shmmax project.max-shm-memory     4294967295
shmsys:shminfo_shmmni project.max-shm-ids     100

Configuring the oracle User’s Environment and user limit (as oracle) :
$ cat .profile
#       This is the default standard profile provided to a user.
#       They are expected to edit it to meet their own needs.
MAIL=/usr/mail/${LOGNAME:?}
ORACLE_BASE=/oracle
ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/oracle
ORACLE_SID=orcl
export ORACLE_BASE
export ORACLE_HOME
export ORACLE_SID
PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin:/usr/openwin/bin
export PATH
ulimit -t unlimited
ulimit -f unlimited
ulimit -d unlimited
ulimit -s unlimited
ulimit -n 4096
ulimit -v unlimited

Creating Required Directories (As root)

# chown -R oracle:oinstall /oraclebase/oracle
# chmod -R 775 /oraclebase/oraclebase

# chown -R oracle:oinstall /oradata

# chmod -R 775 /oradata

# chown -R oracle:oinstall /source
# chmod -R 775 /source

Setting environment Display (as oracle) :

buka xmanager passive
from console :
export DISPLAY=ip:0.0
xhost + command not found in solaris
check on
/usr/openwin/bin

Install Software :
as oracle, runInstaller -> install software only
kalau pake ignoreSysPrereqs :
$ ./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs

netca (create listener)

dbca (create database)
